Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation an affiliate of Tokyo based Ajinomoto Co. Inc hosted an event last November 24, 2015 at Torre Venezia Suites in Quezon City.
Growing up with Aji-nomoto products gives me the feeling that I’m part of the family and glad to be invited to cover the event.
AjiPanda™ a cute panda icon was launched and introduced as “Your Best Friend in the Kitchen” because Aji-nomoto brings out the natural ingredients of the food as emphasizes by Ms. Roann Co, Ajinomoto’s Marketing Head.
AjiPanda™ conveys someone shy, caring, happy and loyal.
It’s one of my best day ever because I was able to meet the Teen Queen Ms. Kathryn Bernardo, who renewed her 4th year contract as brand endorser of Ajinomoto.
A perfect endorser for Ajinomoto because she loves cooking and finds it very rewarding. She also conveys the image that cooking is not only enjoyed by adults but with the new generation too.
Dr. Frances Tan, a medical doctor with specialization in General Pediatrics and sub specialty in Allergy and Immunology and Dr. Celeste Tanchoco, a veteran in the field of nutrition joins the event and enlightens us facts about Umami and monosodium glutamate.
According to Dr. Tan, Umami (a Japanese-coined name) is the fifth taste we can perceive by our tounge and described as rounded, rich and savory or “malinamnam”. It is our favorite taste when cooking our favorite dishes.
The source of Umami taste is glutamate. Glutamate is non-essential amino acid that naturally occurs in food like tomatoes and cheeses and can be found also in salt form through monosodium glutamate or famous known as MSG.
Dr. Tanchoco elaborates the role of glutamate in nutrtion. She enlightens us that is MSG is safe for human to all ages.
This is an awakening for me because on the past years I’ve been avoiding products with MSG because of some misconception. I’m glad that it was fully explained during the press con that MSG is not harmful if taken in moderation.
Now I can fully enjoy my dishes with all the Ajinomoto Products without hesitation 🙂
APC’s products include AJINO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning, Ajinomoto® Brand Ginisa Flavor Seasoning Mix, Ajinomoto® Brand Chicken Powder, PORKSAVOR® All-in-One Seasoning Mix, CRISPY FRY® Breading Mix, CRISPY FRY® Seasoned Crumbs, TASTY BOY® All Purpose Breading Mix, AJI-SHIO® Seasoning Mix, Ajinomoto® Brand Sinigang and “amino Fres-C” Instant Drink Mix.
